Paula Barnes is thrilled and feels blessed to serve at Holy Cross Christian Academy. After moving to Burleson a few years ago, she spent time praying about where God would lead her to work in their new community. Her daughter discovered HCCA online and encouraged Paula to explore the school’s website. Paula believes her daughter’s prompting was God-directed, because as soon as she visited the site, she felt drawn to HCCA. After connecting with Mrs. Matejka, Paula knew she had found where God was leading her.

Paula graduated from Dallas Baptist University and University of North Texas and brings over 30 years of public school experience as a classroom teacher, GT specialist, and school counselor. She is passionate about educating, supporting, and preparing the next generation and looks forward to all that God has in store for her and for HCCA this school year.

Paula is married to Jim, and they have two grown children, Jonathan and Hannah, both Texas A&M graduates. Jonathan is a lawyer for the state of Texas and is married to his wife, Sarah. Hannah will graduate this fall from PA school and is married to Chuck. As a family, they enjoy walking, traveling, serving at their church, and spending quality time together.
