Hi! My name is David Powell, and I am excited to teach Bible and Computer at Holy Cross Christian Academy. I graduated from Dallas Baptist University and have a heart for Christian education. I am passionate about helping students grow in their knowledge of God’s Word while equipping them with the skills and confidence they need to succeed.

I was drawn to Holy Cross because of its commitment to providing a Christ-centered education and its dedication to nurturing students academically, spiritually, and personally. I look forward to getting to know my students, building meaningful relationships, and creating a classroom where they feel encouraged to ask questions, grow in their understanding of Scripture, and strengthen their walk with Christ. I am excited to see how God will work in the lives of my students.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes my parents, my younger sister, and our Australian Labradoodle, Harry. I have played the piano since kindergarten, have traveled to 39 states and five countries, and my favorite movie is Inception—I’ve watched it more than 30 times and even wrote a college essay about it! My students will quickly learn that I’m a bit of a nerd and love diving into topics that spark curiosity and great conversation.
